Qaasim ibn Isma`eel ibn `Ali said: “We were at the door of Bishr ibn al-Haarith, he came [out] to us. We said: O Abu Nasr, narraate hadeeth to us. He said: Do you pay the zakaah [that is due] on hadeeth? I said to him: O Abu Nasr, is there zakaah on hadeeth? He said: Yes. When you hear hadeeth or remembrance of Allaah you should apply it.”
Abu `Aasim says: “One who seeks the knowledge of hadeeth, he is seeking the highest matters of the world, so he must be the best of all people.”
Ibrahim al-Harbi said: “Whenever one hears something of the manners of the Prophet sallallaahu `alayhi wasallam one should hold fast to it.”
