You are most beloved to me..

“O Allaah, make my love for You the most beloved thing to me, and my fear for You the most fearful thing to me, and remove from me all worldly needs and wants by instilling a passion for meeting You, and when You have given the people of the world the pleasures of their world, make the coolness of my eyes (pleasure) in worshipping You.”

“My Lord, do not let them overpower me..”

I thought it would be good to share ad`iya that I personally love, with the rest of you so that you can make use of them everyday but especially on Friday during the one hour between `Asr and Maghrib.

Abu Hurairah narrated that the Prophet sallallaahu `alayhi wasallam said: “On Jum`ah there is a time that if a believing slave asks Allaah during it for some good, (Allaah will) give it to him, and that time is after the `Asr prayer.” [Ahmad]

Remember, before you raise your hands to Allaah, check your intention, and have firm faith that Allaah will accept it.

May Allaah answer all our ad`iya.

O my Lord, help me and do not help others against me, help me to overpower them and do not let them overpower me. Plan in my favour and do not plan against me, and guide me and make the guidance easy for me, and help me against whoever oppresses me. O my Lord, make one most grateful to You, one who remembers You greatly, one who fears You greatly. one who obeys You greatly, one turning greatly towards You in submission and humility. O my Lord, accept my repentance, wash away my sins, and accept my invocations, keep me firm on my proof, guide my heart and make my tongue to utter what is correct (and true), and remove any illfeeling from my heart.

How much do you Love the Messenger [sallallaahu `alayhi wasallam]?

Indeed, Allaah confers blessing upon the Prophet, and His angels [ask Him to do so]. O you who have believed, ask [ Allah to confer] blessing upon him and ask [Allaah to grant him] peace.

Virtues of sending Salaah and Salaam upon the Prophet (sallallaahu `alayhi wasallam)

Imam Ahmad recorded that Abu Talhah said that the Messenger of Allaah came one day looking happy. They said, “O Messenger of Allaah, we see that you look happy.” He said,

The angel came to me and told me, “O Muhammad, would it not please you if your Lord, may He be glorified, says: `No member of your Ummah sends Salaah upon you but I send Salaah upon him tenfold, and no member of your Ummah sends greetings of Salaam upon you but I send greetings of Salaam upon him tenfold’” I said, “Of course.”

This was also recorded by An-Nasa’i.

Imam Ahmad recorded that Abu Talhah Al-Ansari said: “One morning the Messenger of Allaah was in a cheerful mood and looked happy. They said, `O Messenger of Allaah, this morning you are in a cheerful mood and look happy.’ He said,

(Of course just now someone [an angel] came to me from my Lord and said, “Whoever among your Ummah sends Salah upon you, Allaah will record for him ten good deeds and will erase for him ten evil deeds, and will raise his status by ten degrees, and will return his greeting with something similar to it.”)” This is also a good chain, although they (Al-Bukhari and Muslim) did not report it.

How to send Salaah upon the Prophet (sallallaahu `alayhi wasallam)?

Al-Bukhari recorded that Ka`b bin `Ujrah said, “It was said, `O Messenger of Allaah, with regard to sending Salaam upon you, we know about this, but how about Salaah’ He said:

(Say: “O Allaah, send Your Salaah upon Muhammad and upon the family of Muhammad, as You sent Your Salah upon the family of Ibrahim, verily You are the Most Praiseworthy, Most Glorious. O Allaah, send Your blessings upon Muhammad and upon the family of Muhammad, as You sent Your blessings upon the family of Ibrahim, verily You are Most Praiseworthy, Most Glorious.”)’

[Taken from Tafsir Ibn Kathir]

It has been narrated from Jaabir radiyAllaahu `anh that the Messenger of Allaah sallallaahu `alayhi wasallam said: “Whoever visited a sick person does not cease to swim in mercy until he returns home, if he was to sit down he would be immersed in it. ” (Musnad of Imaam Ahmad)

“There is not a Muslim that visits another in the morning except that 70,000 angels ask forgiveness for him until the night, and if he visits him at night then 70,000 angels ask forgiveness for him until the morning, and he will have earned a garden in Paradise.” (at-Tirmidhi)

Allaah will say on the Day of Judgment: “O son of Adam I was sick and you did not visit Me. He will say: O Lord how can I visit You.   You are the Lord of the worlds? He says: Did you not know that My servant so and so was sick yet you did not visit him? Did you not know that if you had visited him you would have found Me with him?” (Hadeeth Qudsi – Saheeh Muslim).

“…you would have found Me with him”, subhaan’Allaah this hadeeth never ceases to amaze me every single time I read it. This is coming directly from the Lord of the Universe and what could possibly be more beloved to us than the nearness of Allaah?

Get your cleaning gloves ready!

When the woman who used to clean the Masjid died (while he was unaware of it) the Prophet ( صلى الله عليه وسلم ) asked about her. Abu Hurayrah ( رضي الله عنه ) narrated: A dark complexioned woman (or a youth) used to sweep the mosque. The Messenger of Allaah صلى الله عليه وسلم missed her (or him) and inquired about her (or him). The people told him that she (or he) had died. He asked why they did not inform him, and it appears as if they had treated her (or him) or her (or his) affairs as of little account. He (the Prophet) said: Lead me to her (or his) grave. They led him to that place and he said prayer over her (or him) and then remarked: Verily, these graves are full of darkness for their dwellers. Verily, the Mighty and Glorious Allaah illuminates them for their occupants by reason of my prayer over them.

[Saheeh Muslim, the Book of Prayer, No. 2088]

I know shaytaan has a number of ways to make us either procrastinate or come up with a 101 excuses for not being able to commit to a good deed on a regular (everyday) basis, but during this blessed month we all make an extra effort to go for taraweeh, so staying back a little later on a Friday night wouldn’t hurt! Besides, other than the fact that our reward is multiplied manifold by Allaah, its also a good training experience for brothers.

Now lets get our cleaning gloves ready!

Want the company of RasoolAllaah?

Umm Sa’id bint Murra al-Fihri related from her father that the Prophet sallallaahu `alayhi wasallam said, “I and the guardian of an orphan will be in the Garden like these two.” (and he sallallaahu `alayhi wasallam held his two fingers up) – Adab al-Mufrad

If you really desire the company of the best of creation, the Prophet sallallaahu `alayhi wasallam who shed tears of concern for this Ummah, then one of the most easiest things you can do is sponsor an orphan. And with so many organizations working on it in different parts of the world, we have no excuse to not take part in such a blessed deed. Below, I have listed some of the many organizations that you can contact and to make it even easier, you can pair up with a friend/spouse or other family members and split the monthly costs (without having to split the reward!).
